HPV Vaccine Videos Available Online

Two new video commercials have been created to help inform girls and young women about HPV and the free HPV vaccine currently available in Missouri. These commercials are part of a social marketing effort for the human papillomavirus (HPV) Vaccine Project in Missouri to help combat cervical cancer. The commercials can be seen on the social networking site YouTube.com, MOHPV.org, the Missouri HPV Education Coalition website and here at MFHC.org.

Missouri Family Health Council (MFHC) was one of two agencies selected to coordinate a grant for $11 million from the Missouri Foundation for Health (MFH) to provide the HPV vaccine at no cost to those who could not otherwise afford it. The vaccine, approved for females ages 9-26, protects against 70 percent of the strains of the virus that cause cervical cancer and 90 percent of the strains of HPV that cause genital warts.
