MFHC Hires Executive Director

Connie Cunningham has been selected as the Executive Director for Missouri Family Health Council effective January 2, 2008. Connie’s 25-year professional career most recently included serving as Executive Director for the Missouri Academy of Family Physicians. Prior to that, Connie was the Legislative Director/Lobbyist for the Missouri Department of Social Services. In this capacity she was responsible for legislative and constituent issues for a department with an annual operating budget of more than $5.2 billion dollars. While working closely with Missouri’s General Assembly, she worked to ensure issues affecting Missouri’s children, elderly and the needy were addressed.

Connie’s career in health and human services included responsibility as President/CEO for United Way of Central Missouri, Manager of Community Services and Health Promotions at St. Mary’s Health Center, and Statewide Service Coordinator for the Missouri Sudden Infant Death Syndrome Program. Up until two years ago, she and her husband operated (on a part-time basis) an antique/collectible store in Jamestown Missouri.

Connie has a Masters of Business Administration with an emphasis in Health Care Administration. She has been very involved in the Central Missouri community as a volunteer in many capacities.
