Legislation Would Create Women's Health Program
posted on 1/9/2006

A representative from the Kansas City area has filed a piece of legislation that would create a comprehensive state women's health program. Rep. Bob Johnson (R-Lee's Summit) is the sponsor of House Bill 1051, which calls for initial start-up funding of $5 million dollars. Services that would be provided under the women's health program include breast and cervical cancer tests, screenings for STDs and HIV, and contraceptive counseling and supplies.
